In Unit five Reading and writing you will learn these skills:

* Quickly scan for information when reading

* Expand vocabulary on environment

* Write a topic sentence

* Write an outlined cause and effect essay.

Jan 11/Sunday: Today's 5 tasks

1) Make a Padlet board for homework/classwork/project work / Send link to teacher.

2) Make a list: what are the greatest environmental issues or problems for the UAE?

3) Open Reading and writing to page 147.

 Discuss these questions:

a) How is the weather changing in your country?

b) How have humans affected the environment?

c) Why should we care about the environment?

d) Why do you think polar bears are an environmental symbol?

4) Complete the "watch and listen" section of book: Pages 147 to 153.

 *Answer questions from page 153 in a titanpad you started from task 2 (the environmental problems list).

a) Do you think climate change is the result of human activity?
b) Whose responsibility is it to try to stop the climate changing?
c) What steps can companies and governments take to reduce the problems of climate change?
d) What steps can you take individually to help to protect the environment?
