End of Year: Listening



ATHS Grade 10
End of Year Exam
Mon, June 29 10AM-12PM (2hrs)
Value: 30% of total mark for school year
Topics: 40% from T1 & T2 and 60 % from T3.
Listening 20%         

Term 3 topic (Fashion, Economics, The Brain)

Listening will be played once. Take notes
or answer while recording plays.  


Question types will be taken from all three terms:
* Multiple choice

* True, False, Does not say (DNS means that the recording does not mention the answer. Not that the answer is True or False in the real world.)

* Topic mentioned tick box 

* Fill  in blank (if the directions say "use one word" then writing a two words in your answer makes it incorrect)

Paragraph 2/3: use passive form when describing process. Describe each step of process

Conclude with a general statement about the (importance of) the process



REMEMBER:

A process is described using the passive voice.
Also, sequence words are used.


Tea example:

To begin with, an electric kettle is filled with water. The kettle is then plugged into an electrical socket. Next, the on switch is pressed.
After that, Tea bags are then placed in a teapot. When the water in the kettle boils, it is then poured into the tea pot. The tea then sits and brews for a few minutes.
Following this, the brewed tea is then poured into a teacup. For the last step, milk is added. Finally, the tea is consumed.
